Literary Review
The story is about three teenagers that are spending their summer holidays in the Big Apple. Surprisingly, a weird valuable diamond disappears from the museum where Nick and Bill have a summer job as assistants. This terrifying event results in a vampire scare all over New York. However, an odd exhibition, an unusual professor, two suspected cleaners and some murders around town (including the murder of the museum guard) make this case difficult for the friends and the police to solve. Finally, a terrible discovery about the world of the living dead comes to light.
I like this reading book mainly because it is enjoyable, entertaining and exciting. Although it has got a simple plot, it keeps your attention and makes you think how the case can be solved, which in my opinion, is rather funny and very creative. Moreover, I think the vocabulary is suitably chosen. If it were easier, then the story would lose its charm and the readers will get bored. If it were more difficult than it is now, we would not want to read it and we would get dull as well. Also, the book includes several dossiers, which provide lots of interesting information or facts that may help to understand how the characters act and how the events evolve. The only thing I don’t like is that the plot is not very original as this kind of mystery stories have been repeated a lot along the recent century.
